Notice About Safety Abroad:

In light of the Europe Travel Alert issued by the U.S. Department of State on May 1, 2017, the UNO Division of International Education will continue to follow State Department recommendations to guide our planning and advice to students. At this moment, we do not have specific safety concerns related to the cities in which our summer programs abroad are based. We recommend - as we always do - that students follow our general safety recommendations which are distributed to students before departure as well as abroad. Particularly for individual student travel prior to arrival at the study abroad site or on weekends, we recommend that students not attend events with large crowds, such as concerts, sporting matches, or demonstrations of any sort. Otherwise, we will continue to monitor the communications from the State Department and the U.S. Embassies in the countries to which we travel as well as enroll our students in the STEP program. We recommend that all students and parents check with the State Department at and familiarize themselves with its recommendations and the services available to U.S. Citizens Abroad. The safety of our students, faculty and staff is our highest priority.

The mission of the Division of International Education is to provide international educational opportunities to the students, faculty, and staff of the University of New Orleans as well as to the public. The reasons for the continued success of our programs are affordability, exciting and interesting locations, high academic standards, excellent choice of courses, first rate faculty, student diversity, and a professional, friendly staff on-site at all locations.

These are remarkable times for students in the United States as well as from abroad. Knowledge and information are crossing international boundaries as never before in the history of humankind. Opportunities abound for study, travel, and work abroad. The acquisition of languages is becoming the mark of the true global citizen. An investment of your time in selecting and participating in one of our excellent programs will pay you dividends for a lifetime. Join us and become a global citizen.
